Charles Rothenberg, an American criminal, was born in 1940 in New York. He faced accusations of deliberately setting fire to his own son, David Rothenberg, in a Buena Park motel room. At the time of the incident, David was just six years old. Allegedly, Charles had promised to take David to various theme parks, but due to a custody dispute with his wife, he took matters into his own hands.
In a disturbing turn of events, Charles administered sleeping pills to David in their motel room. While the young boy slept, Charles doused the bed with kerosene and ignited it, causing a fire. Despite sustaining severe burns covering 90% of his body, David miraculously survived the attack.
