In 2014, Hwasa embarked on her musical journey as a member of the South Korean girl group “Mamamoo.” During this time, she demonstrated her songwriting and composition skills with the track “My Heart/I do me” from the same EP. Fast forward to April 2018, Hwasa made a notable appearance on the KBS reality television show “Hyena on the Keyboard.” This appearance was marked by her collaboration with rapper Loco on the track titled “Don’t.”
She actively contributed to both the writing and composition of the song, leading it to achieve the top position on South Korea’s Gaon Digital Chart. In her solo artist debut, she released the digital single “Twit,” for which she played a key role in its writing and composition.
The song achieved a remarkable feat by topping the Gaon Digital Chart and achieving a “Triple Crown,” which included leading the Gaon Digital, Gaon Download, and Gaon Streaming charts in Korea. Additionally, in October 2019, she demonstrated her musical talent by composing and penning the track “In The Fall.”
In March 2020, she teamed up with English singer Dua Lipa to create a remix of “Physical,” incorporating Korean lyrics. In April, she became part of the original soundtrack for the Korean drama “The King: Eternal Monarch.”
