Melvin Edmonds, an esteemed American singer, musician, and songwriter, was born on November 2nd in Indiana, USA. In 1987, he co-founded the renowned music group “After 7” alongside his brother Kevon Edmonds and Keith Mitchell. During the 1990s, After 7 gained widespread popularity and achieved great success with chart-topping hits such as “Can’t Stop,” “Ready or Not,” and “Heat of the Moment.”
In 1988, the band entered into a contract with Virgin Records, and their eponymous album achieved platinum certification. Melvin Edmonds, widely regarded as one of the finest R&B vocalists of the 1990s, continued to captivate his fans with his 2016 release, “Timeless,” which received considerable acclaim. Unfortunately, Melvin experienced recurrent health problems in recent times, including a stroke in 2011.
On May 18, 2019, he sadly passed away. The news of his death was confirmed by his son, Melvin, and later shared on the group’s Facebook page by co-founder Keith Mitchell after seven days.
Although the specific cause of his death was not disclosed, it was widely known that he had experienced a brief illness prior to his passing.
