In the 2010 NFL Draft, he was expected to be picked in the second round, and by the 2011 NFL Draft, he was seen as one of the top three outside linebackers. He played his first professional game in September 2011 against the Oakland Raiders.
In 2012, Miller was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week twice and AFC Defensive Player of the Month once. He earned the 9th spot on the NFL Top 100 Players list for 2013. After recovering from an injury, he improved his performance in 2014 and was ranked 15th on the NFL Top 100 Players list for 2016.
