CJ Fuller, born in 1995 and passing away in 2018, was a South Carolina-born American football player. He achieved recognition as a running back for Clemson University from 2014 to 2017, amassing a total of 290 yards during his tenure. Additionally, in 2016, he executed a kick-off return ranging from 17 to 20 yards.

Following a knee injury sustained during a football game in September 2018, he underwent surgery and received medical advice to undergo therapy. Despite a seemingly normal recovery, CJ experienced chest pains subsequent to his treatment. This is not an uncommon occurrence for athletes who often face injuries.

On October 3rd, 2018, he was urgently taken to Greenville hospital from a relative’s residence. Despite the tireless efforts of the doctors, they were unable to save his life. His demise came as a profound shock and his loved ones were left reeling from the sudden loss.

The examination results showed that he had been diagnosed with pulmonary embolism and deep vein thrombosis. This medical condition occurs when a blood clot obstructs one or more arteries in the lungs. Typically, pulmonary embolism is caused by blood clots that originate in the legs.

It is unfortunate and heartbreaking that CJ, a young athlete full of potential, was taken away at such a young age, possibly due to the knee surgery he had just a month ago.
