Kyle started his baseball career with an outstanding performance, achieving a batting average of .300/.390/.513, hitting eight home runs, and driving in 47 runs. From the beginning, he was clearly a rising star. In the 2012 college offseason, he was honored with the Playoff’s Most Valuable Player award. In the 2014 Major League Baseball draft, the Chicago Cubs selected him in the first round, making him the fourth overall pick.
In 2015, Kyle played in the All-Star Futures Game and was named the game’s MVP. On June 16, 2015, he was promoted to the major leagues. During that postseason, he set a new record for the most home runs hit by a player aged 22 or younger, surpassing the record previously held by Miguel Cabrera. Unfortunately, the following year, Kyle had to sit out several games due to a leg injury but still managed to achieve a batting average of .412.
During the 2017 season with the Chicago Cubs, Kyle had a slow start, with a batting average of just .120, but by the end of the season, he raised it to .211.
